(AGI) Rome, July 1 - Marcel Kittel was the first cyclist to winthe yellow jersey in the 2014 Tour de France. The 26-year-oldGerman athlete, of team Giant-Shimano, won the first stage ofthe competition on Saturday, 190.5km from Leeds to Harrogate,sprinting past Cannondale's Peter Sagan. British cyclist MarkCavendish (Omega Pharma-Quickstep) had an unfortunate falltowards the end of the race. The second stage, 201km from Yorkto Sheffield, will take place on Sunday. . .
