(VELINO) Roma, 15 Sep - A conference on "Thinking about money",organised by the Department of Human Sciences and the Centrefor Applied Ethics of the University of the Pacific in Limawill take place on Sept. 22 and 23, in partnership with theItalian Cultural Institute (IIC) in the Peruvian capital. Theinitiative was inspired by the philosophy of money of MichelHenry and Emmanuel Levinas and is a cross-sectoral project,which will bring together specialists from various fields ofthe humanities, social sciences and economics. The aim is tolook at the issue of money in all its human, historical,ethical, legal and economic complexity. The participantsinclude Italian contemporary philosopher Remo Bodei, professorof philosophy at the University of California and formerprofessor at the Scuola Normale Superiore and the University ofPisa and in several European and American universities, andDonatella Stocchi-Perucchio, associate professor of Italian atthe Department of Modern Languages and Cultures at theUniversity of Rochester. Peru will be represented by professorsEfrain Kristal, specialising in Latin American literature incomparative contexts; Victor Krebs, dean of the Department ofHumanities at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru;Carlos Gatti Murriel, professor of Humanities at the Universityof the Pacific, and - finally, Jorge Wiesse Rebagliati, dean ofthe same department. vel.
