(AGI) Washington, Nov 19 - New allegations of rape havesurfaced against Bill Cosby following those of former actressBarbara Bowman, in response to which the star of "The CosbyShow" ("I Robinson") cancelled his appearance on the "Late Showwith David Letterman". The new accusations were launched byAmerican journalist Joan Tarshis, who said during a CNNinterview that she was sexually assaulted by Cosby 45 yearsago, when she was 19. Netflix has since decided to postpone itsplanned special for Cosby's 77th birthday on Nov. 28. Tarshisclaimed that Cosby invited her to a bungalow to review somesketches and drugged her Bloody Mary, and soon after she lostconsciousness. "I woke up, or came to very groggily with himremoving my underwear", Tarshis said, and stated that she liedabout having an infection in an attempt to stop him. "I said,if you have sex with me your wife is gonna know it because youprobably will infect her. I thought I was very clever in sayingthat, but he was more clever and instead he made me have oralsex with him, which really was just horrible. To me it's much, much worse than had he just raped me the normal way". Asked whyshe never pressed charges, Tarshis responded: "Bill Cosby, theall-American dad, the all-American husband. Mr. Jell-O thateverybody loves. Who would believe me? They'd probably think Iwas out to get something". In an essay in which she revealedher experiences, Tarshis said she met Cosby in Los Angelesduring a lunch with friends, that they saw each other a fewtimes after that, and that she went to visit him on the set of"The Bill Cosby Show". But she was unable to shake him offafter what happened in the bungalow, she stated, recounting asecond rape episode. "Back home with my parents, my mother keptbringing his name up as a source of pride. Cosby was very hotthen with his first sitcom, "The Bill Cosby Show", and she wasproud that her daughter had written with him. So the day thathe called, she answered the phone and he told her he wasinviting me to The Westbury Music Theater. I was repulsed bythe thought of seeing him again, but I saw no way out. Icouldn't tell my mother what he had done", she recalled. "Hesent a limo to pick me up and I was dropped off at the SherryNetherland Hotel and went up to his suite. I remember noticingthat his leather shaving kit was filled with bottles of pills, and thinking that this seemed odd. He was, of course, veryfriendly and I, of course, was very uncomfortable. He made me aredeye, and I, being nervous and dealing at the time with analcohol problem (I've been in recovery since 1988), drank it.In the car I had something else to drink, but was alreadybeginning to feel a bit stoned. When we got to Westbury and hewent on, there was no seat for me. I stood in the back of thetheater with his chauffeur, feeling insulted that I wasn'trespected enough to be given a reserved seat. But soon after, Iremember feeling very, very stoned and asking his chauffeur totake me back to the car. I was having trouble standing up. Thenext thing I remember was waking up in his bed back at theSherry, naked", Tarshis said. "It took me about 20 years toadmit this to anyone. My girlfriend, who was a cartoonist, toldme she had heard rumors about Cosby, and believed them". . .
