(AGI) Rho, Milan, Oct 21 - The Tree of Life, a work by MarcoBalich, an integral part of the Italian Pavilion at Milan Expo2015, has become a symbol of the exhibition and one of the mostpopular attractions. Two-thirds of visitors to Expo stopped tosee it, with an average of 2.5 million visitors a month. It was"shared" 250,000 times on Instagram and 1.8 million peoplephotographed and posted it on Facebook. Mr Balich noted, with atouch of irony, that on social networks the hashtag#alberodellavita (Tree of Life) often exceeded the moreuniversal #alberodinatale (Christmas Tree). Chief CommissionerGiuseppe Sala, said: "Expo is enjoyed for many reasons, somemore significant than others and the tree has definitely been asymbol that has played an important role. Needing to open thesite and make the area safe we necessarily have to freeze thesevalues (The Tree, Palazzo Italia and Pavilion Zero,) as we tryto move quickly. We should be finished by May but I thinksooner, and we'll try to work out whether they can be broughtback to life as they are in the spring." (AGI). .
