MILAN EXPO TAKES CENTRE STAGE IN ST PETERSBURG

(VELINO) Roma, 24 Jun - Innovation, energy saving, respect forthe environment and natural resources are the watchwords of theUniversal Exhibition in Milan, the contents of which will bepresented on June 30 in St Petersburg by Alessandro Mancini,Ticketing and Tourism Director of Expo Milan 2015. During theevent, organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in the cityat the Bulthaup gallery, the senior official will explain thatthe exhibition inaugurates a new model. It is not just ashowcase of the best technologies for a sustainable future, butalso a global and interactive event with thousands of culturaland entertainment events inside and outside the exhibitionsite. Mr Mancini will use video presentations to illustrate thestructure and features of the exhibition site and mega-eventthat expects to attract 20 million people to Italy over thecourse of six months. The Russian Federation is participatingin Expo with a pavilion on the theme of "Growing for the world.Cultivating for the future". In line with the overall theme of"Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life", this reflects thecontribution to global food security that Moscow has made andwill continue to make to the future of humanity due to itsscientific and agricultural heritage and enormous potential.The pavilion tells the stories of many internationally renownedRussian scientists, whose work has contributed to thedevelopment of agriculture and food security. It alsohighlights the wealth of natural resources and the country'svariety of culinary traditions. However, the pavilion alsoemphasises the role that Russia performs and can continue toperform regarding vital aspects of food security, supply andhow to feed its people and the world. vel.
