LUCIO FONTANA AWARD LAUNCHES IN ARGENTINA

(VELINO) Roma, 17 Mar - The fourth edition of the Lucio FontanaAward has been launched by the Italian Consulate in BuenosAires, in partnership with Pirelli Neumaticos SAIC. Theparticipants will be emerging artists of Italian origin, livingin Argentina. The award winners will be given the opportunityto spend two months in Italy, with the aim of developing theircreativity by coming into contact with Italian culture and art,in particular with contemporary art in the city of Turin, whichboasts many public spaces and important galleries dedicated toemerging artists. The artists will be supported by tutors fromthe Italian Istituto Garuzzo per le Arti Visive, whichspecialises in artist-in-residence programmes, who will beavailable for the two winners throughout their stay in Italy.At the end of the stay, the artists will have the chance toexhibit their work in Buenos Aires. Applicants must be born inItaly after Dec. 31, 1975, or born in Argentina but able toprove their Italian origin, be resident in Argentina, produceworks of visual art in the broadest sense of the term, haveorganised at least one solo exhibition, and have a good commandof the Italian language. Each winner will donate a piece ofartwork produced during or after their stay in Italy, to theItalian Consulate in Buenos Aires. vel.
