ITALY PRESENT AT MONTREAL FILM FESTIVAL IN MARCH

(VELINO) Roma, 13 Mar - Italy will be present at the 33rd'Festival International du Film sur l'Art' (FIFA), held inMontreal from Mar. 19 to 29. Three documentaries by Italiandirectors will be screened at the festival: 'Castle ofPostignano, Spontaneous Architecture from Abandonment toRecovery' by Paolo Barone, 'Piero Manzoni, Artista' by AndreBettinetti and 'Giuseppe Penone, Plant perspective', byFrancesco Fei. The first two have also been entered for thefestival's competition. Italy's participation was organised bythe local Italian Cultural Institute. Other works at theInternational Festival will pay tribute to Italy and inparticular to famous couples from Italian culture in the 20thcentury: 'Fellini-Visconti, duel a' l'italienne' made byMarie-Dominique Montel and Christopher Jones (France); 'Designis One: Lella &Massimo Vignelli' by Kathy Brew and RobertoGuerra, (United States), and 'Callas vs Tebaldi, la le'gend dela tigresse et de la colombe' by Rene'-Jean Bouye (France). Thelatter highlights the rivalry between the two great singers ofthe 1950s, which boosted the popularity of opera. Returning tothe three Italian documentaries: the first will be screened atthe Centre Canadien D'architecture on Mar. 22 and 28; thesecond on Mar. 20 at the Muse'e D'art Contemporain de Montre'aland on Mar. 26 at the UQAM University. Visitors can watch thethird documentary on Mar. 24 at the Muse'e D'art Contemporainde Montre'al and on Mar. 27 at the Centre CanadienD'architecture. vel.
