Italy-Mozambique Jazz Festival returns to Maputo

(AGI) Maputo, Oct 5 - The 11th edition of the Italy-MozambiqueJazz Festival in Maputo runs from Wednesday to Friday this weekwith Italian and Mozambican groups appearing in various clubs,Spazio Italia and Mao Mao Mari, with a jam session everyevening. The groups include the Mozambican Timoteo Cuche &Kuche Quintet, two Italian groups, the duo Quiet Journey withAntonio Jasevoli and Paolo Damiani and the trio of PietroTonolo, Giancarlo Bianchetti and Dudu Kouate, and Italiansaxophonist, Gianni Denitto. As well as the three concertevenings, this training and cultural exchange project alsoincludes two workshops with Mozambican musicians and studentsenrolled in an advanced music course at the School of Designand Communication of the Institute of Visual Arts of theEduardo Mondlane University of Maputo, and a workshop for thestudents of the G. Falcone Italian School in the capital. Thefestival has been organised by the Italian Embassy, inpartnership with the office of the Italian Institute forForeign Trade (ICE) in Maputo and the Musica per Romafoundation, and it was made possible thanks to sponsorship by anumber of Italian companies operating in Mozambique.
