Thetheme this year was "Italian in music and music in Italian"."The Barber of Seville" was performed by the "Opera Lyra",singers at Ottawa's National Arts Centre, conducted by GiuseppePetraroia, under the direction of Dennis Garnhum. Guest starsincluded baritone Joshua Hopkins, mezzo-soprano Marion Newman,tenor Isaiah Bell, baritone Peter McGillivray, bass-baritoneGiles Thomas and young violinist Kerson Leong.
