(AGI) Dublin, June 11 - Literary events and others are part ofa packed calendar of events organised by the Italian CulturalInstitute in Dublin to celebrate the 750th anniversary of thebirth of Dante Alighieri. After a first meeting in February,for the entire month of June, a group of professors, includingCorinna Salvadori Lonergan, will give a series of lecturesanalysing different aspects of Dante's poem, from the complexand intense connection with Florence, to the conception of warin the Comedy and in the life of the poet, the symbolism ofwater in Dante's work and the

(AGI) Dublin, June 11 - Literary events and others are part ofa packed calendar of events organised by the Italian CulturalInstitute in Dublin to celebrate the 750th anniversary of thebirth of Dante Alighieri. After a first meeting in February,for the entire month of June, a group of professors, includingCorinna Salvadori Lonergan, will give a series of lecturesanalysing different aspects of Dante's poem, from the complexand intense connection with Florence, to the conception of warin the Comedy and in the life of the poet, the symbolism ofwater in Dante's work and the influence of the Comedy oncontemporary popular culture. Again as part of the celebration,Friday evening will be dedicated to Nobel laureate poet SeamusHeaney, an authority on Dante and author of a numbertranslations of the cantos of the Comedy and adaptations andtranspositions from other of Dante's works. This will befollowed by a play by Matteo Belli, entitled "Ora X: Inferno diDante" (X Hour, Dante's Inferno), which shows the musicality ofDante's work and evokes the immediacy and vitality of the mostfamous verses of the first canto. The celebrations end with areading of the entire Divine Comedy over three days, involvingat least 100 readers with different backgrounds and interests,each dedicated to one canto and alternating with otherlanguages into which the Comedy has been translated.) . .
