(VELINO) Roma, 5 Oct - Italian culture will take centre stagein Chile this month with Italian Language Week and the Year ofItaly in Latin America. The events, which aim to give a new anddifferent view of Italy, its traditions and culture, has beenorganised by the Italian Cultural Institute of Santiago withthe Italian embassy, the National Library of Chile and theChilean Directorate of Libraries, Archives, and Museums. Therewill be meetings with prominent figures in the Italo-Chileanartistic world, lectures, exhibitions, workshops, films andmusical performances. These include an exhibition called "Hijade un Pueblo Nuevo", on the relationship between GabrielaMistral and Italy, on the 75th anniversary of the Chilean poetwinning the Nobel prize, a conference called "Beauty in Italianart", with Professor Ughette Del Mauro Zunino; the Italian film"Scialla!", a comedy by Francesco Bruni from 2011; a conferenceon "The secrets of Italian cuisine" with Roberto Illari andNello Gargiulo, a workshop "Introduction to the Italianlanguage"; the conference "Series of 'Libro Abierto'conversations"; the journalist Ivan Valenzuela interviewingChilean guitarist and composer Horacio Salinas, director ofIntillimani Historico and a concert by Horacio and MartinaSalinas. vel.
