ISIS destroys ancient mausoleums in Palmyra
(AGI) Damascus, June 23 - Islamic State fighters have destroyedtwo ancient Muslim mausoleums in the historic Syrian city ofPalmyra, the country's antiquities director said on Tuesday.Palmyra recently fell under the control of the jihadists. Three days ago the fundamentalists blew up the mausoleum ofMohammed Ben Ali, a descendant of the family of the prophet'scousin Ali Ben Abi Taleb, said Syrian Director of Antiquities,Maamoun Abdulkarim.
