(AGI) Seattle, Sept 23 - The 28th annual Festa Italianacommunity festival opens at the Seattle Center on Saturday andruns until Sunday. The event celebrates the cultural roots andhistory of the Italo-American community in the AmericanNorthwest. It features all things Italian, including arts, foodand wine. The programme includes a vehicle parade, anexhibition of photos of the first Italians to arrive in thecity, a show called Le arti della Festa Italiana and a boulestournament. A lottery will offer a one week holiday for two ina Tuscan villa. There is also a dog show for small breeds,including the ancient Cirneci dell'Etna, greyhounds and others.A full range of Italian food will be available, from pizza andpasta to meatballs, cured meats and ice cream. There will be acookery demonstration by acclaimed TV chef Nick Stellino. TonyLaStella and his band will give a concert on Saturday evening,and the Indie Mbrascatu band from Portland, which sings only inCalabrese dialect, perform on Sunday afternoon. (AGI). .
