(VELINO) Roma, 27 Mar - Friuli Venezia Giulia region and theLegislative Assembly of Buenos Aires have signed aninternational cooperation agreement. On behalf of Italy theagreement was signed by the President of the Regional Council,Franco Iacop who was awarded the title of "DistinguishedVisitor" to the capital, and for Argentina by the FirstVice-President of the Assembly, Cristian Ritondo. The honorarytitle is given to people who have rendered a service to thecity or the country. In this situation, the reference was tothe work done by Friuli Venezia Giulia in parts of Argentinawhere a number of international cooperation projects have takenplace. In his speech to the twin ceremony, Italian ambassadorto Argentina, Teresa Castaldo, stressed that these initiativescontribute to the strengthening of relations between the twocountries, and that it was no mere coincidence that they havebegun with a special region rich in history, tradition andculture such as Friuli Venezia Giulia.
