BRAZILIAN STUDENTS MEET ITALIAN COMPANIES AT MILAN EXPO

(VELINO) Roma, 6 Oct - An event entitled, "Milan Expoopportunities for cooperation between companies anduniversities," organised by the Brazilian Embassy in Italy andthe University of Bologna (Technical Secretariat of the ScienceWithout Borders in Italy programme) in partnership with theItalian embassy in Brazil, will take place on October 7 as partof initiatives for the Year of Italy in Latin America. It willbe held at the Brazilian pavilion at the Universal Exhibitionin Milan. On the occasion about 700 Brazilian students who arein Italy thanks to the programme will meet Italian companiesthat have expressed interest in providing opportunities forinternships and jobs after graduation. Indeed, with "Sciencewithout Borders" Brazil offers university students andresearchers in the field of the exact sciences and health theopportunity to carry out a period of study abroad. A total of100,000 scholarships have been offered in the years 2012-2015and have reflected the programme's strong orientation towardsmanufacturing. Italy was among the first countries to havesigned in 2012 a memorandum between CAPES (agency of theBrazilian Ministry of Education) and the GEI group of majorItalian companies in Brazil, to allow Italian companies toparticipate in the programme. Currently, with 4000scholarships, Italy is the ninth most popular destinationchosen by Brazilian students. Since 2014 a web portal hasimplemented and coordinated the best of the Italian offer,allowing firms to post internship offers and to view the CVs ofscholarship students. More than 100 companies, including manySMEs, have joined with an offer of 217 placements betweenJanuary and June 2014. vel.
