ARGENTINA PRESENTS ITS MILAN EXPO 2015 PAVILION

(VELINO) Roma, 6 Mar - Argentina officially presented itspavilion for the Universal Exhibition in Milan. It did so witha ceremony at the Palacio San Martin, which was attended by theDeputy Foreign Minister Eduardo Zuain and the ArgentineanDeputy Commissioner for Expo, Martin Lettieri. Italy wasrepresented by Deputy Foreign Minister, Mario Giro, andAmbassador to Buenos Aires, Teresa Castaldo. The event was alsoattended by a large group of representatives of the diplomaticcorps, the business and cultural worlds, the Argentineauthorities responsible for Expo and the local press. In hisspeech, Mr Giro stressed the global importance of Expo for theissues of food security and sustainable development,highlighting the contribution that Argentina can make in termsof content to the themes of the Universal Exhibition due to therichness of its agriculture and food. The undersecretary saidthat Argentina's participation in Expo will also be a uniqueopportunity to strengthen the already excellent economic andtrade relations between Italy and Argentina, which are deeplyrooted in the affinity and links between the two peoples. Infull agreement with Giro, Mr Zuain noted how the wealth,diversity and production capacity of Argentina in the foodsector are well reflected in the structure and content of theArgentine pavilion, which measures around 2000 square metres, amodel of which was shown at the close of the ceremony. Throughparticipation in Expo, with the theme "Argentina feeds you" thecountry intends to contribute to the global debate on thechallenges of food by applying the concepts of responsibilityand sustainability to development policies, Mr Zuain added. vel.
