ARGENTINA CONFERENCE TO DISCUSS 'GEOPHILOSOPHY OF FILM'

(VELINO) Roma, 8 Jun - An international conference on the"Geofilosofia del Cine" (Geophilosophy of Film), will takeplace in Buenos Aires from June 10 to 13. The event, the firstof its kind, has been organised by University of Calabria, UNA(Universidad Nacional de las Artes) and ENIC (European UnionNational Institutes for Culture) in partnership with the BuenosAires City Council and the Italian Cultural Institute (IIC) inthe Argentine capital. Italian cinema magazine "Fata Morgana"is sponsoring the event. The aim of the conference is tocompare different currents of philosophical thought on cinema,through the intersection of European and American perspectivesin a dialogue between authors from both continents. To thisend, after the opening ceremony, the discussion panel will bedivided into several thematic sessions, each of which willalternate talks by keynote speakers with debates chaired byItalian and international academics (from Brazil, Argentina,United States, Chile, Spain, France, Romania and Colombia). Thespeakers will include Josep Maria Catala Domenech, DorkZabunyan, Sergio Navarro Mayorga, Edgar Castillo Doll andIleana Birsan.
