Ankara massacre provoked by two suicide bombers

(AGI) Ankara, Oct 11 - Saturday's bombing in Ankara, whichcaused the worst massacre in the history of Turkey with over120 people killed, was reportedly performed by two suicidebombers, both of whom were men, reported opposition leaderKemal Kilicdaroglu, after a meeting with Turkey's PrimeMinister, Ahmet Davutoglu. "I have been given information onthe bombing but, as you can understand, I cannot reveal thedetails," he said in a briefing with the media immediatelyafter the meeting. "I was told there were two suicide bombersand that both were men. However they did not mention anyorganisation," he added during a press conference broadcastlive by CNN TURK. The news is in contrast with non-officialreports circulating on several Turkish media on Sunday, according to which the suicide bombers were women. According tothe news broadcaster, the police have already proven that theexplosive used in the bombing was TNT, the same used in thesuicide bombing in Suruc last July, although it was reinforcedwith metal pellets in order to have a deadlier effect. Turkishauthorities said that the Suruc suicide bombers wereundoubtedly linked to Islamic State (ISIS) jihadists, which ledmany Turkish analysts to also find a jihadist link with thepeople responsible for the massacre in Ankara. The Turkishdaily Haberturk added that the Turkish police suspects that oneof the suicide bombers was the older brother of the terroristwho blew himself up in Suruc. The man, Yunus Emre Alagoz, theolder brother of Abdurrahman, who was held responsible for thebombing at the Suruc cultural centre on the border with Syria, has completely disappeared since the day of the bombing inwhich 33 pro-Kurdish activists of the HDP Party were killed. Ifhis involvement is confirmed, it would imply a sensationalfailure on the part of the security forces. Mr Kilicdaroglureported telling the prime minister that the ministers ofjustice and of the interior should immediately resign or beremoved from office for failing to prevent a massacre of suchproportions and said that it was a serious blunder not to haveinitiated a dialogue with the HDP Party. The first findings ofthe investigation on Saturday's tragic bombing in Ankaraindicate an involvement of ISIS, which is now the focus ofinvestigations, reported sources of Turkish security forces onSunday. One of the sources said that the Ankara bombing hadmany similarities with the Suruc bombing in July. (Editor'snote: Turkish authorities attributed this bombing to ISIS atthe time). "This bombing was the same as in Suruc andeverything points to it being a duplicate of the first...whichleads us to ISIS," said the source. . .
