(VELINO) Roma, 26 Mar - The Pirandello Theatre adjoining theItalian Cultural Institute (IIC) in Lima, will host the second"Italian Institute in Concert" event from March to August 2015,with a special edition for the Year of Italy in Latin America.The performances, which will include chamber music, light musicand jazz, aim to give space and voice in Peru to some of themost original Italian musicians of recent generations. Thedebut took place on Mar. 25, with an unprecedented dialoguebetween Italian and Peruvian music. For the first time ever,Italian pianist Riccardo Fassi performed with Peruviansaxophonist Jean Pierre Magnet, author of an original fusion ofjazz and traditional rhythms. Andean harp maestro LucianoQuispe also made a special appearance. The programme willcontinue with one concert per month, with on Apr. 23 the MusicaNuda duo, composed of Petra Magoni and Ferruccio Spinetti.Subsequent dates will be dedicated to classical music with soloconcerts by prestigious pianists Pietro De Maria (May 6) andOrazio Sciortino (July 21). One section of the programme hasemerged out of an artistic partnership with l'Amiata PianoFestival, a summer festival in its 11th year now as part ofTuscany's Maremma music festival. Some of the leading artistsdue to play at the 2015 Festival will make two separate visitsto Lima, with Maurizio Baglini, the founder and artisticdirector of the festival on piano along with Guido Corti onFrench horn, on June 3; and Emanuele Segre, who will give aguitar concert on Aug. 19. vel.
