(AGI) Paris, June 23 - French actress and singer Magali Noel,who was featured in Federico Fellini's "La dolce vita" andplayed the sexy icon Gradisca in "Amarcord", died at 83 onTuesday, only days away from her next birthday, her daughterannounced. Born Magali Noelle Guiffray in Turkey in 1931, shedied in her sleep at her rest home in Chateauneuf-Grasse,France. She began her career in cinema in the 50s afterdebuting as a cabaret singer, joining the ranks of BrigitteBardot, Jeanne Moreau, and Annie Girardot. With a filmographyspanning some 80 films, her first success came with JeanRenoir's "Elene et les hommes" in 1956, which created herbridge to Italian cinema, through which she was immortalised asthe epitome of Fellini's sexual fantasies. Her most famous songwas "Fais-moi mal Johnny", a rock song which was banned inFrance due to its risque' lyrics. She married actor Jean-PierreBernard, with whom she had a daughter, and later adopted twoboys during her second marriage. . .
