(AGI) Kyoto, May 17 - The 2016 Tazio Nuvolari Trophy, a race for classic car collectors held in Hokkaido from July 16 to 18, has been introduced by the General Consul of Italy in Osaka, Marco Lombardi. He said Tazio Nuvolari was an Italian racing driver who has been called "the greatest driver of the past, the present, and the future". The opening was attended by the deputy mayor of Kyoto, Hiroyuki Fujita, who said that he was honoured that so many important collectors and Nuvolari fans had come from all over Japan to celebrate the great driver. A number of events focusing on Italian cars have taken place recently in Kyoto, culminating in a large gathering of Lamborghini cars and owners at the temple of Kitanotenmangu. Japan is the second largest market for Ferrari and the fourth for Lamborghini. The country has many associations of collectors who appreciate Italy and its products. (AGI) .
