(VELINO) Roma, 10 Aug - A concert entitled "Italy meets Noh!" will be hosted by the Italian Cultural Institute in Tokyo on Thursday, 1 Sept. The event is part of the celebrations for 150 years of diplomatic relations between Italy and Japan. Contemporary Italian composers will blend their craft with Japan's traditional Noh theatre. It will also feature singer and performer Ryoko Aoki, who has built an international reputation through her numerous collaborations with modern composers around the world. She will perform pieces composed by Federico Gardella and Valerio Sannicandro, who rank among Italy's most skilled composers today. The second part of the concert will centre around the renowned work of Stefano Gervasoni, professor of composition at the Conservatory of Paris. Ryoko Aoki will be accompanied by the talented Italian flautist Mario Caroli and the famous French quartet Diotima, which specialises in contemporary music. The concert will end with the world premiere performance of Stefano Gervasoni's compositions. vel
