(VELINO) Roma, 20 Sep - Applications are now open for the second International Careers Festival, one of the most highly awaited events of the year for aspiring diplomats and international officials from non-profit or business organisations hoping to launch their career. Thousands of youths from all over the world will take part in the unique festival devised by the 'Giovani nel Mondo' association to connect talented students and graduates with hundreds of international opportunities. The initiative is sponsored by the Italian government, the European Commission's Representation in Italy, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the World Food Programme (WFP), the UNESCO Youth Committee, and Roma Capitale (Rome's authorities). The application process allows candidates to choose the programme that best suits them, including the possibility of a scholarship. The Festival will take place from March 11 to 14, 2017 in Rome, where 35,000 youths from every continent will be divided among the five projects for which the 250 scholarships are made available. They will also be able to participate in workshops, conferences, and stands where they can acquire practical skills. The Festival will end with a marathon and a concert. Participants can select their preferred programme based on their career goals and academic background. The four programmes are: Rome Model United Nations, a diplomatic simulation of the UN recommended for students of international relations, political science, and law; Rome Business Game, which involves business case studies and is recommended for students of economics, engineering, marketing, and computer science; Rome Press Game, a journalism, web, radio, and television simulation ideal for students of communications, translation and interpretation, literature, and philosophy; and finally the International Careers Course, which is suitable for students from any faculty. The Festival will also feature the International Careers Fair exhibition, which is also open to the public. It will offer young people the chance to meet face-to-face with experts from the sector, whether they are seeking information on the best academic training or an internship. A practical approach to international job-hunting and the possibility of interacting with experts and HR managers looking to recruit talented individuals are the cornerstones of the Fair. vel
