(VELINO) Roma, 12 May - The "Nuova Harmonia" cycle, organised by the Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires, including a piano recital by Nazzareno Carusi, is to take place on May 17. This initiative has been organised by the Italian Institute of Culture (IIC) in Buenos Aires as part of the events of the Year of Italy in Latin America. The programme includes a classical repertoire of piano compositions by Domenico Scarlatti and Franz Liszt. Carusi is an internationally famous Italian pianist. He studied with Alexis Weisseberg and Viktor Merjanov and made his debut in 2005 with the string orchestra of the Berlin Philarmonic, and later was included among the "Solisti della Scala". Recently, Riccardo Muti called him a "musician of great value", and the extremely exacting music critic Paolo Isotta described him as "a world class pianist". The "Year of Italy in Latin America" is an initiative promoted by the Farnesina and the ministries of Cultural Property and Tourism, Economic Development, together with the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), the Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities and with the contribution of several businesses. Over the 12 months, about 200 events will place the spotlight on the cultural, economic, scientific and technological aspects of contemporary Italy. It is an ambitious and complex project that aims to promote the identity of Italian talents in Latin America. vel
