(VELINO) Roma, 10 Jul - Over 400 visitors participated in the 'Ambasciata a Porte Aperte' [Open Doors at the Embassy] on the premises of the Italian Embassy in Brazil. The successful cultural event took place on June 6, 8, 13, 20, 23 and 27. Visitors discovered the artistic and architectural peculiarities of the building designed by Pier Luigi Nervi and admired the halls of the Diplomatic Residence, which was recently refurbished by two famous Brazilian designers of Italian descent -Humberto and Fernando Campana. Participants also appreciated the interior decoration project and the modern and contemporary art masterpieces, which included four works by Candido Portinari. The diplomatic building is currently hosting three exhibitions that attracted visitors. The first is the photo show 'Il paesaggio deScritto', which features 89 pictures shot by photographer Luca Capuana of some of the Italian UNESCO World Heritage sites. The second exhibition is entitled 'Even Closer Union' and was organised by the Farnesina on the occasion of the 60th aniversary of the signing of the Rome Treaties. It features photos, historic documents and testimonies that details the history and evolution of the European Union integration project from 1957 to the present day. The third exhibit is 'Italians, like us', which offers images and icons of 'Made in Italy' excellence through the stories of women, men, knowledge and products which have contributed, throughout the centuries, to the prestige Italy has earned throughout the world. The high number of visitors, the feedback received and the considerable number of requests for reservations which could not all be accepted, have foreseen a possible replay of the initiative in the upcoming months. vel
