(VELINO) Roma, 20 Jun - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is scheduled to host on July 7 the presentation of the initiatives Italy has organised to celebrate Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. There will be many and diverse events, including "I Giochi in Grecia e a Roma", an exhibition hosted at the Museum of Fine Arts in Rio de Janeiro, which will run from 26 July to 2 October; Casa Italia, the headquarters of CONI - the Italian National Olympic Committee - in Rio de Janeiro, where athletes and journalists will gather throughout the Games, but which will also serve as a place where Brazil and Italy will easily come together. Casa Italia will also play host to events open to international visitors, promoting "Made in Italy" brands. Other commercial initiatives on the agenda include events associated with Italian haute cuisine, which will take place in Rio within the framework of the memorandum of understanding, designed to promote the Italian culinary tradition abroad. Special attention will be paid to "I Giochi in Grecia e a Roma", an exhibition displaying extraordinary works of art which will take visitors on a journey across the history of the Olympic games going back all the way to Ancient Greece and Rome. Eighteen months after the opening of the Italian Year in Latin America, the exhibition is meant to be the ideal closing of this programme which has promoted over 600 events of art, music, cinema and theatre, also thanks to the direct cooperation of Latin American institutions. The Year of Italy in Latin America has represented an important occasion to further strengthen the relations between Italy and Latin America. The presentation will be attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloni, Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, Dario Fransceschini, Undersecretary of State for Economic Development, Ivan Scalfarotto, Ricardo Neiva Tavares, Ambassador of Brazil to Italy, and the Chairman of the National Italian Olympic Committee - CONI - Giovanni Malago'. vel
