(VELINO) Roma, 29 Jul - Italy's diplomatic network in China launched the "Wo de Yidali" (My Italy) photography contest. The initiative is addressed to Chinese tourists who visited Italy on a visa released by the Italian Embassy in Beijing or by one of Italy's Consulates General in China. Contestants can submit their photographs in the categories "UNESCO Sites in Italy" and "My Italy". Submissions will be open from July 25 to September 30. Instructions have been published on the websites and social media platforms of Italian institutions in China. "The idea for a photography exhibition stems from the wish to promote Italy's beauty, directly involving hundreds of thousands of Chinese tourists who visit Italy. Through their photographs and smartphones, they will both endorse and attest to what Italy offers," stated Italy's Ambassador in Beijing, Ettore Sequi. "In particular, we're aiming to promote not only our famous cities but also the destinations and routes less known among Chinese tourists, starting from UNESCO sites. Italy is a country that needs more than one visit in order to fully appreciate the incredible beauty and diversity of its landscapes, monuments, culture, and the quality of its food and wine. Therefore, we have decided that the prize will be a chance for the winners to return to Italy on vacation and discover new landmarks," he concluded. vel
