(VELINO) Roma, 30 May - An exhibition devoted to the reconstruction of the two wings of the historic Hotel de Gallifret opens in Paris on June 13. The exhibition is supported by the Italian Institute of Culture, which has its headquarters in the building. Nine architectural firms, selected by an international committee of experts, Cino Zucchi, Jean-Louis Cohen, Margherita Guccione and Pippo Ciorra, will take part in the exhibition, along with the department of architecture at Roma Tre University. The designs for rebuilding both wings will be on show. The south "La Varenne" wing, badly damaged by water ingress, was demolished in the Seventies and will now serve as accommodation for promoters of Italian excellence visiting Paris. The west wing, which has been incomplete since the Fifties, will provide space for taught courses and offices. Directed by Matilde Cassani, Professor at Milan Polytechnic University and architect in residence since 2015 as part of the Promises of Art Project, the exhibition responds to the regulations set out in the VII Arrondissement Conservation and Valorisation Plan. vel
