(VELINO) Roma, 6 Jul - A conference entitled "Cooperation in healthcare: a bridge between Russia and Italy" ("La collaborazione in ambito sanitario: un ponte tra Russia e Italia") was hosted by the Italian Embassy in Moscow. The event was opened by Russia's Health Minister, Veronika Skvartsova, and by Italian Ambassador Cesare Ragaglini, who were followed by top officials from major Italian hospitals and healthcare facilities representing: the San Raffaele / San Donato Group; the Agostino Gemelli University Polyclinic; the Humanitas Group; the European Oncological Institute/Monzino Cardiological Institute; the Villa Maria Group; Villa Stuart Hospital; and others, representing around 80 percent of Italy's private healthcare system. The first part of the conference was dedicated to investing in the Russian Federation, with contributions by Tatarstan authorities and the Corporation for the Development of South Caucasus. The Italian companies present illustrated their expansion plans on the Russian market. The second part of the conference focused on medical tourism, through which Russian citizens are offered the chance to obtain top diagnostic, medical, and surgical services in Italy's best facilities. The event was attended by a large number of Russian and Italian companies - around 130 in total - which confirms the present interest for one of the sectors in which the two countries' bilateral cooperation can acquire a strategic dimension. vel
