(VELINO) Roma, 24 Jun - The "Futurismo: Primera Vanguardia" exhibition has just been inaugurated at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) in Santiago de Chile's Parque Forestal. The exhibition, which will run until August 14, gathers 36 original futuristic manifestos owned by the Echaurren Salaris foundation as well as other manifestos, books, and documents from the Vicente Huidobro Foundation, and a series of collages by Italian artist Pablo Echaurren entitled "Iconoclast II", created as a homage to Futurism and held by the Galleria d'Arte Maggiore in Bologna. As part of the exhibition's opening, a conference was held on June 21 by expert Caludia Salaris, who has studied Futurism and its influence on various artistic organisations, starting with the Echaurren Salaris Foundation. Both events were co-organised with the support of the Italian Embassy in Santiago and fall under the Year of Italy in Latin America, an initiative promoted by the Italian foreign ministry in collaboration with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), the Conference of Deans of Italian Universities, and with contributions by numerous businesses. Over the course of the Year of Italy, some 200 events will highlight contemporary Italy in its cultural, economic, scientific, and technological aspects - an ambitious and complex project aimed at enhancing Italy's identity and talents in Latin America. vel
