(VELINO) Roma, 5 Jul - Raphael has been described as a universal genius. The lecture on schedule from 7 to 9 p.m. on 10 July at the Italian Cultural Institute in London will explore Raphael's unique talent in his different artistic expressions - drawings, paintings, tapestry cartoons, sculptures and architectural designs - and in his archaeological activities. The lecture is organised concomitantly with the exhibition's "��Raphael. The Drawings" on display at Oxford's Ashmolean Museum from 1 June to 3 September. Arnold Nesselrath has studied Art History, Archaeology and Classical Philology at the universities of Mainz and Bonn and at the Courtauld Institute in London. Since 1981 he manages the project entitled "Census of Antique Works of Art and Architecture Known in the Renaissance", which was first hosted at the Warburg Institute, subsequently at Rome's Bibliotheca Hertziana, and lastly at the Humboldt-Universitaet of Berlin. Since 1982 he has been working for the Vatican Museums, for which he is presently Director of the Science Departments and Restoration Laboratories. In addition, since 1996 he teaches Art History at Berlin's Humboldt-Universitaet, concentrating his research on the legacy and remains of classical antiquity. vel
