(VELINO) Roma, 3 Jul - "Contemporary", a series of chats - conversations, lectures and live performances - organised and moderated by Monica Capuani, presents an overview of prestigious representatives of Italian contemporary theatre to British audiences at the Italian Cultural Institute in London. Italian actors, playwrights and directors, successful young performers and established masters, narrate their artistic pursuits and exchange experiences with important members of British contemporary theatre. Following the editions featuring Fabrizio Gifuni, Pippo Delbono and Iaia Forte debating with Branka Katic, Lucia Calamaro with Haydn Gwynne, Ann Goldstein with Melly Still and Monica Dolan, the sixth edition will feature Lella Costa, Omar Elerian and Nassim Soleimanpour. The chat will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, 4 July. Lella Costa is an actress, writer and dubbing actress. She graduated from the "Accademia dei Filodrammatici" (drama school) in Milan and made her debut in 1980 with a monologue, a genre that would make her famous. She has worked in the theatre, in the cinema (starting in 1989 with Ladri di saponette "The Icicle Thief" by Maurizio Nichetti) and in television (starring in TV shows like "La TV delle Ragazze"), in addition to her continuous civil engagement, especially working for the Italian medical aid organisation Emergency. She starred in and produced theatre performances, working with musicians, directors and authors like Ivano Fossati, Marco Baliani, Alessandro Baricco, Gabriele Vacis, Serena Dandini and Stefano Bollani. Omar Elerian is a director, playwright and performer. He studied physical theatre at the Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris. Some of his performances include: The Tempest, presented for the first time in Palestine and in Israel before being staged in Londona��s Barbican Theatre; You're Not Like the Other Girls Chrissy, which was nominated for an Olivier prize and won the The Stage's Best Solo Performance prize; Les Pe'tites Grandes Choses at the�Maison de Arts du Cirque et du Clown. At present, he is Associate Director at the Bush Theatre of London. Nassim Soleimanpour was born in Tehran in 1981. His performance, entitled "White Rabbit Red Rabbit", made its stage debut in Edinburgh in 2010 and has been staged in numerous locations and languages since then. In 2016, it was a box-office hit at the Westside Theatre in New York, as it featured actors of the calibre of F. Murray Abraham, Alan Cumming, Cynthia Nixon, Whoopy Goldberg and Nathan Lane, while in Italy it was performed on stage by Lella Costa. Every night, the show is performed by a different actor who hasn't read the script beforehand. Nassim is currently working on a new performance for the Bush Theatre of London. vel
