(VELINO) Roma, 21 Jun - The Association of Italian Language Teachers in Germany will organise a didactic workshop on Saturday, June 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Humboldt University. It is a task-based language teaching (TBLT) workshop, with a technique which builds natural context into a classroom environment. The methodology uses a second or foreign language to achieve an extra-language goal, while interaction is driven by a real lack of information. It is an approach that considers a foreign language first of all as a necessary tool to communicate with, communication in turn becoming a means for speakers to achieve a result. Beyond that, TBLT focuses on form, allowing learners to focus on the register as well as the content of the message, while taking note of language aspects which in a spontaneous learning context are brushed aside - with a consequent drop in accuracy. Participants in the workshop will be guided to discover and focus on other key points of the 'upside-down' approach peculiar to the task-based language teaching technique, through taking part in ad-hoc activities. vel
