(VELINO) Roma, 22 May - The Italian Cultural Institute in Lima, in cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institute in Sao Paulo, presents the concert-performance "Le piazze d'Italia", featuring baritone/singer and actor Gaetano Maschio and soprano Filomena Piro. The artists, who originate from the Island of Ischia in the Gulf of Naples, boast a track record of 25 years of performances and concerts both in Italy and abroad. The South American tour is sponsored by the Italian Cultural Institutes in Latin America and includes several TV appearances which were widely acclaimed both by the public and the press and are the best possible presentation for this well-matched couple of the Italian art scene. They will be accompanied at the piano by Maestro Silvano Trani, musician and professor. This time the two artists are making a comeback in Peru with their "Le piazze d'Italia", a show that uses very popular Italian and Neapolitan songs to present how life in cities inevitably flows into the "piazza", an ideal stage for the circumstances of everyday life. With great sensitivity, elegance and humour, the audience is guided through the discovery of a world made of music and songs but also of poetry, culture and sentiments. The concert will be held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, 24 May at the Teatro Luigi Pirandello. Admission is free. vel
