Rabat - An Italian film was the big winner at the Tetouan Mediterranean Film Festival. Edoardo De Angelis' film 'Indivisibili' [Indivisible] was awarded the Grand Prix de la Ville de Tetouan in Morocco. The jury, chaired by Greece's Panos Karkanevatos, also had Italy's Cristiana Paterno, France's Francais Bordat, Ivory Coast's Kadhy Toure, Morocco's Fatima Loukili and Spain's Cristina Plazas. They voted unanimously for the Italian film.
"We have all learned a lot from this fruitful and honest exchange," said Ms Paterno. "The Tetouan Festival deserves to be supported. I wish to underline that. Thanks to the collaboration with Rome's MedFilm, it has always paid great attention to Italian films. There are a good number of women on the jury panels, and the selection of films has focused on female stories and on films directed by women."
Among the many events on the schedule was the Forum for the Mediterranean Film Commission. It was attended by the president of the Fondazione Roma Lazio Film Commission, Luciano Sovena, who represented Italy. Beatrice Fiorentino also participated in the conference "When film overcomes man-imposed borders". The Italian delegation also included Mario Brenta with the film Delta Park, which was co-directed with Karine De Villiers. It was presented in Tetouan in the documentary section, where Patrizia Pistagnesi was a member of the documentary jury panel.
