Turin - An advanced coffee training course will be held at the Lavazza Training Center in Turin from June 26 to 30, 2017. The study center of the Turin-based company will host the Umami Train the Trainers Camp, an Umami Area international training event addressed to the trainers of the Specialty Coffee Association. It will be an event dedicated to international coffee training, during which Umami Area will bring the qualified trainers of the Specialty Coffee Association up to date.
The program will begin on Monday, June 26, with an insight into the management of plantations, botany and coffee farming. On this occasion, the activities of the Fondazione Giuseppe e Pericle Lavazza Onlus will also be discussed.
Since 2002, the foundation has been developing the ¡Tierra! sustainability project, in cooperation with the NGO Rainforest Alliance, with the aim of improving the living conditions of coffee farming communities. In 1979,
Lavazza was the first company to establish an institution dedicated exclusively to training, i.e. the Coffee School, which has now become a worldwide network with more than 50 locations in 5 continents, training about 30,000 people every year.
