Paris - Andrea Camilleri, whose series of novels featuring Police Inspector Montalbano have made him famous in France, too, was a special guest at the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris, which organized a two-day event in his honor. The celebrated Sicilian writer flew to the French capital to take part in a discussion alongside Fabio Gambaro and Serge Quadruppani.
In parallel, the Institute organized an exhibit of the translated editions of his works, together with the letters written to the celebrated inspector by several Italian and French writers. After the discussion, the event continued with the screening of "The Vanishing of Pato'", directed by Rocco Mortelliti, a film adaptation of one of Camileri's books. The initiative was organized in collaboration with the Italian publisher Sellerio and the French publisher Fleuve Noir.
