Prague to stage Mozart's Marriage of Figaro as a thriller

Prague - Italian pianist Marco Borroni will participate on June 2 and 4 in a thriller-style version of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 'The Marriage of Figaro', staged by the young Czech artists of the Run OpeRun Association. Veronica Loulova, a student at the Music Department of the Academy of Performing Arts of Prague with a major in opera direction, has founded the Association with a view to reaching out to young generations.

By implementing today's modern tools, the artists transform classic operas into attractive underground performances. In 2016 the Run OpeRun Association staged Mozart's 'Magic Flute', while its latest project is entitled 'Thriller - The Marriage of Figaro'. Young professional and semi-professional artists have contributed to this staging of Mozart's famous classic, including vocalists of the National Theatre and other top institutions. Lukas Klansky, one of the most acclaimed young Czech pianists, will conduct the orchestra and Marco Borroni will join in.

Mr Borroni graduated from the Music Conservatory in Milan where he studied composition under Fabio Vacchi. In the 2011-2012 period he studied as a pianist at the Academy of the Teatro La Scala. He currently performs as an accompanying pianist in Italy and abroad. The event is co-organized with the Italian Cultural Institute in Prague and will take place at the Venuse ve Svehlovce Cultural Centre.
