Florence - The website www.toscanaovunquebella.it, launched on 14 July 2016, has received 477,000 unique visitors, 900,000 page views, and 670,000 open sessions from its debut to the period ending on 31 March 2017. The website is the core of the tourism promotion campaign stressed by the Governor of the Tuscany Region, Enrico Rossi, together with the Counsillor for Tourism, Stefano Ciuoffo, with the collaboration of Toscana Promozione Turistica, Fondazione Sistema Toscana and the 279 Tuscan mayors, coordinated by ANCI [association of Italian municipalities].
As of today, there is something new, however. Following the high number of requests, each municipality now has the possibility of uploading up to 5 stories describing their territory in an effort to expand their tourist offer. The aim of Toscana Ovunque Bella [Tuscany Beautiful Everywhere] is to make up a mosaic of short evocative stories describing one aspect of a Tuscan town. Every day, a spotlight will focus on a different municipality, even the smallest and much less popular ones. Out of 279 municipal administrations, 218 have already responded to the project.
Additionally, 153 stories have been collected and published in Italian and English and these figures are only expected to rise. "These figures show the great potential of this tool, which, we must emphasise, has not yet been fully implemented. The fact which impressed me the most is the visibility it has received abroad in such a short amount of time. We want Toscana Ovunque Bella to grow and that is why we have given a chance to all Tuscan municipalities to tell their story. We also wish to spur the ones that have not yet joined the project to do so as soon as possible and grasp this unique opportunity to promote their territory," said Stefano Ciuoffi, Councillor for Productive Activities, Credit, Tourism and Trade of the Tuscan Region.
