(AGI) Florence, Sept 20 - Agriculture in Tuscany has beenbrought to its knees after Friday's hail storms and heavyrainfall, and urgent new compensation measures are called for,the Italian farmers' association CIA said on Saturday. Most ofthe countryside from Bagno a Ripoli to the shore, and along thecourse of the Arno River, was hit. Initial damage estimates aredramatic, because vineyards, olive groves and fruit andvegetable crops have been damaged, in some areas evencompletely destroyed, especially around Empoli and in CerretoGuidi, Fucecchio, Vinci, and San Miniato. . .
