Italy GDP likely to stagnate in fourth quarter, says ISTAT

(AGI) Rome, Nov 28 - Italy's economy looks set to stagnate inthe fourth quarter of this year. The Italian NationalStatistics Institute (ISTAT) forecast in its monthly bulletinthat Gross Domestic Product (GDP) would slow, either falling orrising 0.2 percent, during the last three months of the year.This tallies with macro-economic forecasts released on Nov. 3.GDP is expected to fall 0.3 percent over the whole of 2014,following low domestic demand net of inventories, affected byheavy investment falls and a modest increase in foreign demand.Projections are for GDP to shrink 0.1 percent in 2015.
