Italy allocates 140 mln euros to supply South with gas

Vicari and Caldoro reached an agreement tofind 50 million euros for funds for development and cohesion(FSC) and the Por-Campania funds for infrastructure investmentsin Campania's municipalities. Vicari, together with Caldoro,then met a delegation of mayors from the towns concerned andoutlined the operational programme of the CIPE decision, whichassigns 20 million euros per year until 2020, for a total of140 million euros, to bring natural gas to the South. "SouthernItaly has not received funds since 2004," Vicari said. "Thisagreement is a great achievement especially for the Cilentoarea, which, thanks to the allocated funds and regionalco-financing, has finally been offered a solution to itsnatural gas supply problems."
