(AGI) Rome, July 8 - The food expenditure of Italian householdsin 2013 fell slightly to 461 euros a month from 468, reportedstatistics agency ISTAT. Workers on low incomes and coupleswith children tightened their belts most. The number ofhouseholds reducing the quality and amount of food purchasedrose to 65 percent in 2013 from 62.3 percent in 2012 andnumbers going to hard discount outlets rose to 14.4 percentfrom 12.3 percent. Meat consumption was particularly hard hit,with households spending 3.2 percent less. . .
