(AGI) Milan, Sept 21 - Italy and Ethiopia, linked by age-oldbonds, are currently reinforcing their relations, especially atan economic level. "We are heading towards our 'Renaissance'.There is a transformation in our country, from an agriculturaleconomy to a manufacturing economy, with a focus on investmentson infrastructures," said the Ethiopian Foreign Minister,Tedros Adhanom, during his visit to Milan. Expo 2015 willdevote a 'national day' event to Ethiopia on Sept. 22. In thecoming years, "we will benefit from the creation of millions ofjobs, especially in the textile and leather industries," theminister added, during his address to the business forum oneconomic opportunities in Ethiopia, adding that there is a needfor "fresh capital and new technologies" and, turning to Italy,he added, "we are ready to welcome Italian entrepreneurs, on ared carpet." Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni seizedthe opportunity to say: "Ethiopia is among our two or threemajor interlocutors in Africa, largely due to its political andinstitutional stability, which are a precious asset forinvestors." Ethiopia is a nation "with a very high growth rate,and extraordinary potential," with its 90 million inhabitantsat a very low average age, so the Italian minister urged "theItalian entrepreneurship world to gather together and graspsuch opportunities", supported by government. "Italy'sentrepreneurship sees Ethiopia as one of the countries on thepriority list for 2015-2017," he emphasised, promising: "Theseactions start from a bilateral exchange of 300-400 millioneuro, but this is not enough and we can do much more.". .
