Ukraine votes without Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk

(AGI) Kiev, Oct 26 - Eight months after the exit of Ukrainianpro-Russian president Viktor Yanukovich, 31.5 million Ukrainianvoters are going to the polls in snap elections for a newparliament. However, 5.6 million people in the eastern Donetskand Luhansk regions and in the Crimea won't be taking part. TheCrimea was annexed by Russia in March and the easternself-claimed republics plan to run parliamentary andpresidential elections on Nov 2 in the regions under theircontrol. Polling stations opened at 8 a.m. local time (7 a.m.CET) and will close 12 hours later. . .
