(AGI) Havana, July 1 - Havana has announced that the resumptionof diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United States willlead to the reopening of their embassies as of July 20th.Cuba's Foreign Affairs Ministry reports that the date featuresin a letter from Barack Obama to Raul Castro, delivered by handby Jeffrey DeLaurentis, head of the US interests in Cuba, toCuba's acting Foreign Minister Marcelino Medina. The letterrequests "the resumption of diplomatic relations", fruit of atwo-year negotiation between Washington and Havana, long afterrelations between the two countries broke down half a centuryago. President Obama will announce at 11 a.m. (Eastern TimeZone), at a press conference in the White House Rose Garden,the reopening of he United States Embassy in Havana, which wasshut down by Dwight Eisenhower in 1961.
