(AGI) Cairo, Oct 8 - Syrian rebels were advancing in theQalamun area, along the border with Lebanon on Wednesday, AlJazeera satellite TV reported. There were intense clashesbetween Sunni forces and Shiite Hezbollah militia in the areaon Tuesday. However, regime troops were pushing forward in theAl Jobar area, on the outskirts of Damascus. There was alsofighting in Quneitra near the border with Israel, where UNpeacekeepers left their posts to avoid becoming caught up inthe clashes. . .
