(AGI) Baghdad, Mar 6 - Some 28 countries have so far declaredtheir support for the creation of an independent Kurdistan,Deputy President of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament, DrJaffar Eminiki, said live on the local website Rudaw. Theinternational community's stance on Kurdistan's independencewas changing, he said, although he did not name the 28countries. Rudaw also reported a contrary opinion, voiced byProfessor Dlawer Ala'aldeen of the Middle East ResearchInstitute, who said that if Kurdistan were to declareindependence right now, many countries would turn their backsand leave the region to its own devices.
