A totalof 40,304 migrants have entered Italy from Tunisia and Libya, alot more than the 6,838 who have arrived in Spain from Moroccoand Algeria or the 24,799 who have entered Romania and Bulgariafrom Turkey. A total 30 percent of immigrants in the world comefrom sub-Saharan Africa, 23 percent from the Middle East andNorth Africa and 12 percent from the Horn of Africa. More than40,000 migrants have died since the year 2000. .
