President Rousseff favourite to win re-election in Brazil

(AGI) Sao Paolo (Brazil), Oct 26 - Polling stations opened inBrazil on Sunday for the second run-off round of presidentialelections. A total of 142.8 million voters can choose betweenoutgoing president Dilma Rousseff and her challenger, AecioNeves. Ms Roussef is ahead in the polls by four to sixpercentage points. Voting started at 8 a.m. local time (11.00CET) and will close at 5 p.m. (20.00 CET). The massive countryhas three time zones and so polling stations will close firstin the state of Acre and three hours later at the border withBolivia and Peru.

Around 15,000 soldiers have been deployed toensure the smooth running of the elections in 15 statesconsidered at risk out of a total of 27 states. About 30,000soldiers were deployed in the first round. .
